It all began in 2009, when 1411 women were examined over a median period of 26.3 weeks.

The researchers, led by Dr. Ravi Retnakaran at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, checked the study participants’ blood pressure, glucose, triglycerides, and cholesterol.

The study resulted in 739 boys and 672 girls. What researchers found in their analysis is certainly shocking and exciting for any mom-to-be.

Researchers found that systolic blood pressure was higher in women prior to pregnancy for those who had a boy at 106.0 mm Hg. Slightly higher when compared to those who had a girl at 103.3 mm Hg.

This has led to blood pressure being an isolated indicator to determine boy or girl.
