While many may turn to creams, lotions and pills to perk up their erection or increase sexual desire there is actually a much safer and healthier way to improving your sexual performance-your diet. 

Adding these five super foods to your daily diet can offer benefits to your personal health along with some sexual health benefits. All it takes is a trip to your local grocery store to heat things up between the sheets!

Avocados are a very popular diet staple right now. Not only are they delicious and versatile, but they are extremely nutritious. Avocados offer more potassium than a banana, are loaded with fibre, offer 26% of your recommended daily intake of Vitamin K, and 15 grams of healthy fat. 

It is a staple on many low carb, high fat diets such as Keto, Atkins and the Paleo diet. 

In addition to all these healthy reasons to add some of this fruit to your diet, it can also help with your sexual performance. 

The potassium in avocados is beneficial for regulating thyroid production in women, which left unchecked can negatively affect  a woman’s libido. Avocados are full of vitamin B6 which regulates the male hormones and can boost their libido as well. 

While these ingredients help with desire, the folic acid content in avocados can help to increase stamina and energy which can help with staying power.

Along with hydrating the body, (watermelon is 92% water!) watermelon also helps you feel full. It is full of healthy antioxidants, such as vitamin C, which helps prevent cell damage from free radicals. 

Watermelon also contains an important amino acid called citrulline, which helps to improve the blood flow to your heart as well as your genitals. This can help with stronger erections, improved libido. Citrulline is also known to relax blood vessels and can have a similar effect as Viagra.

Almonds can pack a nutritional punch, especially when eaten with the outer skin intact. This is because the dark brown outer layer contains the lion’s share of the nut’s antioxidants. This is because of the high level of zinc, known to increase sexual desire and healthy sperm production. They are also rich in selenium and vitamin E, which are also beneficial for fertility.
