Why New York residents choose Your Doctors Online
New York healthcare is strained. Long primary-care waits, packed urgent care, and high-deductible plans push everyday care out of reach for many New Yorkers. Healthcare Value Hub's 2025 NY survey found 80% are worried about affording care. Here's how we work around that.
24/7 care, built for New York hours
NY runs on shift work. Our doctors are on every night, weekend, and holiday. A sick kid at 2 am in Brooklyn or a UTI flare on Sunday in Albany, and you're connected with a New York online doctor in minutes.
Prescriptions to any New York pharmacy
CVS, Walgreens, Duane Reade, Rite Aid, or an independent pharmacy on the corner. Your prescription goes wherever you actually fill it.
No commute, no PTO, no waiting room
A clinic visit in NYC eats half a day once you factor in the subway, the wait, and the trip back. A telehealth visit requires no travel and runs 10 to 20 minutes from your apartment, office, or hotel if you are traveling.
Care from anywhere in New York State
Anyone physically in NY at the time of the visit qualifies, including the out-of-state patients working in the city without an in-state primary care provider.

Frequently asked questions
What is Your Doctors Online?
Your Doctors Online is a 24/7 virtual clinic that connects you with licensed doctors by chat, phone, or video. You can get medical advice, prescriptions, lab requisitions, and doctor’s notes from your phone or computer without going to a walk-in clinic.
How fast can I talk to a doctor in New York?
Most patients are talking to a New York online doctor in under five minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There’s no appointment booking. You sign up, describe your symptoms, and a doctor connects with you on chat, phone, or video.
Are your doctors licensed in New York?
Yes. The supervising physicians on Your Doctors Online are board-certified US doctors registered to practice telehealth in New York under the NY State Education Department, Office of the Professions. They follow the same standards of care as in-person clinicians and comply with New York State Public Health Law §2999-cc.
Can an online doctor prescribe antibiotics in New York?
Yes, an online doctor in New York can prescribe antibiotics when the visit confirms a bacterial infection. The most common cases are UTIs, strep throat, sinus infections, ear infections, and skin infections. Your prescription is sent directly to your preferred New York pharmacy. We don’t prescribe antibiotics for colds, flu, or other viral infections, because antibiotics don’t treat viruses.
Can I get a doctor's note online in New York?
Yes. If the doctor decides a note is appropriate after the visit, you’ll get a downloadable PDF doctor’s note with the physician’s name, license details, and clinic contact information. New York employers and schools accept telehealth-issued notes as long as they’re tied to a real medical consultation.
How much does a telehealth visit cost in New York?
A telehealth visit in New York through Your Doctors Online costs $20 per month for unlimited visits, with no per-visit fees, copays, or deductibles. By comparison, virtual telehealth services charge $89 to $149 per visit when paying out of pocket. With most NY-regulated insurance plans, telehealth is reimbursed at the same rate as an in-person visit under Public Health Law §2999-DD.
Is telehealth covered by insurance in New York?
Yes, under New York’s telehealth payment parity law (Public Health Law §2999-DD), state-regulated commercial insurance and Medicaid cover telehealth at the same rate as in-person care. The NY Department of Financial Services requires this for most plans. If your plan is self-funded through an employer (ERISA), federal rules apply instead, so check with your HR or insurance provider. Your Doctors Online itself is a self-pay subscription, so insurance isn’t required to use it.
Can I get a telehealth visit for a UTI in New York?
Yes. UTIs are one of the most common reasons for telehealth visits in New York. An online doctor will ask about your symptoms (burning urination, frequency, urgency, lower back or pelvic pain, blood in the urine), review your history, and prescribe an antibiotic for UTI when appropriate. The prescription is sent to your pharmacy, often within minutes.
Can I see a New York online doctor without insurance?
Yes. Your Doctors Online doesn’t require insurance. The flat $20/month plan covers unlimited visits for one person across chat, phone, and video, for any non-emergency condition listed above. You also pay separately for any prescription you fill, but the visit itself is included in your subscription. This is the cheapest published self-pay rate among the major NY telehealth platforms.
Can telehealth prescribe antidepressants in New York?
Yes, licensed providers on Your Doctors Online can prescribe antidepressants like SSRIs and SNRIs during a telemedicine visit. The virtual doctor conducts a full evaluation, discusses options, and sends your online prescription to your New York pharmacy. If your needs are beyond our scope, we will refer you to a psychiatrist.
Can telehealth diagnose strep throat in New York?
A telehealth doctor can evaluate sore throat, fever, swollen tonsils, and other symptoms to determine whether a strep diagnosis is likely. If the clinical picture is consistent with strep, the doctor can prescribe antibiotics. If symptoms are ambiguous, you may be directed to a Labcorp, Quest Diagnostics, or other nearby lab for a rapid strep test. Most straightforward cases are handled entirely through the virtual visit.
