How to get a blood test
Your Doctors Online makes getting a blood test stress-free and straightforward. Whether you need routine bloodwork, a specific test for a health concern, or follow-up after treatment, our licensed doctors can help maintain your health and detect potential issues.

This guide will walk you through requesting and completing your blood test safely via Your Doctors Online application. If you haven’t purchased a plan yet, it’s time to take some action.
Open Your Doctors Online application
On the application home screen, tap on “consult doctor” or “consult icon” on the bottom. Then select your patient profile.
Choose your type of service
The screen will show you the list of services based on your subscription plan. Tap on “Family medicine”. This will direct you to the medical issue screen.
Describe your medical issue
Briefly describe your medical issues and blood test needs, and click “Continue.” On the next page, read the terms and conditions carefully and agree to the patient consent form to begin your process.
Chat with a patient care advisor
A patient care advisor will contact you via chat, audio, or video to assess your health and recommend the required blood tests. You will be asked to provide:
- Government-issued ID
- Your nearest lab or imaging centre
Get lab test approval from a supervising physician
A supervising physician will contact you through chat and notify you about your approved lab requisition.
View your lab requisition
On the application dashboard, tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner to open the navigation menu and tap on “Lab reports.”
Get your lab tests done
The lab reports section will show you the attached blood test requisiton consiting of:
- Practitioner details
- Patient details
- Blood test details
- Details of lab testing facility
You will also recieve a PDF on your registered email. Take your lab requisition to the testing centre/medical lab and get the recommended tests done. The results usually arrive within 1-2 weeks.
Preparation Tips
- Ask your doctor if fasting is required before your test.
- Drink water before your appointment to make blood draws easier.
- Bring a valid photo ID and any insurance information.
- Choose a lab that is convenient for you and check its hours.

What should I do if the lab doesn’t have a requisition?
Contact our support team. We can send your lab requisition to a different facility right away.
What if the lab can’t find my requisition?
Show them the digital copy in your doctor chat or the PDF sent to your email.
Do I have to print the lab requisition?
We can fax the requisition directly to your chosen lab. If needed, you can also show the emailed copy.
How can I follow up for results, and how are results shared?
We’ll notify you as soon as your reports are ready. We also keep a secure copy. You can reach out to discuss your results and any next steps for treatment.
How do I choose a lab location through the app?
During your consultation, your patient care advisor will ask for your preferred lab location. You can choose the lab closest to you.
How soon after requesting can I get the test done?
You can complete your test as soon as you receive the requisition from our licensed healthcare provider. Many patients get tested the same day.
