CANCELLATION: We understand that unplanned issues can come up and you may need to cancel your case.  Should that happen, we respectfully ask for submitted cases to be cancelled within8 hours by sending an email with the Registered Patient Name to staff want to be available for your needs and the needs of allour clients.  When a patient does not want to continue for a scheduled case and the specialist has been engaged, another patient loses an opportunity to be seen. 100% reimbursement minus transaction charges due to third party (eg., paypal charges 3% for each transaction) will be done for cancellations within 8 hours period.

At YourDoctors.Online, we do not provide clinical services which includes everything from consulting, diagnosis and treatment, rather we provide a second opinion or consulting on a diagnosis or treatment plan that has already been provided. Specialists at YourDoctors.Online will not administer the treatment, hence the risk of liabilities is very limited. However, we strongly suggest you seek legal counsel, as every case and specialist requirements and risks may vary. You should also review the Scope of Work and Consultative Service as included in our Patient Terms and Agreement(which a patient will be asked to accept before making the payment) which every patient reviews and signs before making any payment or submission of the case. Registered specialists with YourDoctors.Online need to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in their “specific specialty” and be board certified (US or Canadian or international boards should be clearly indicated on the doctor registration questionnaire) with good standing in their respective practice jurisdiction.

As an added feature for all our specialists, we have liability insurance coverage of USD $3 Million.

At YourDoctors.Online we do not keep any money from your consulting fee (average consulting fee ranges from US$250+ per consult is your fee and you should get 100% of it minus any transaction fee that your PayPal or Bank might charge) that you want to charge and we build 25-30% margin on top of your consulting fee to cover our costs (platform maintenance, transaction costs paid to visa / PayPal, case facilitation fee paid to triage case, support, malpractice insurance, legal & marketing costs). So the patient will pay us US$390 for the services for a specialist who charges US$300 as their consulting fee.

As a member on our specialist panel, a patient seeking your opinion registers and sends a case for your review and consultation. This work and patient flow is similar to the situation when a patient may travel to your office from across the country (or the globe) for advice. You will review the case details and identify any missing information needed to provide the best opinion. The patient will submit any missing information (within reasonable time) and the specialist will prepare a final report for submission. The specialist may recommend specific medications or advise therapy in the final report. However, the specialist may not provide prescription or accept to perform procedures through the online service.

It is not an essential service or part of the consultation; however, it is at the sole discretion of the specialist to choose to include video or audio as part of the consultation. Proper application is required on both patient and specialist (eg., chrome, firefox) for this application to work. Hence we do not provide any guarantees that the application will work seamlessly. Specialists are able to see if the patient is online (ie., on portal) and could decide to allow a video conference BUT this service is not included in the service charges. It is on sole discretion of the specialist.

No. YourDoctors.Online medical second opinions are all performed remotely. Therefore, there is no need for an in-person exam. The YourDoctors.Online specialist will provide your second opinion after carefully reviewing all of the comprehensive medical information that you have provided which includes your local doctor’s findings during your physical exam.

Once you select the specialists and payment has been made, our case facilitator reviews the for completeness. We submit the case within 8 hours of receiving the case (and assuming no document is missing). Then we allow each prioritized doctor to accept the case within 24 hours. If case is not accepted in that time, then we move to the next specialist. The average time from the initial case submission to the delivery of the specialist’s report is generally 14 days. It depends on the complexity of your case and the length of time it takes to receive your medical records and pathology. Typically, the expert’s report is provided within 3 to 5 business days of receiving all medical records.

In order to obtain these items, you will need to contact your local physician’s office or the facility where your tests were performed. While the process may vary, patients typically need to submit a written request for the information. The records may include paper files, pathology slides, X-rays and other radiology and laboratory findings. Requests normally include the patient’s name, address, birth date and dated signature. For your convenience, we have drafted a letter template that you may find useful to print and send to your physician’s office to request your medical records.

You should have the following information on hand when requesting a second opinion:
