Board-certified plastic surgeon Andrew Ordon, MD from the talk show The Doctors has a new book called Better in 7: The Ultimate 7-Day Guide to a Better You. In this book, he listed natural, less-invasive approaches to skin care and beauty. He mentioned DIY recipes for getting rid of dark circles under eyes, how to get shiny hair, how to have smooth dewy skin, which will help you preserve your natural beauty.
The following are the said beauty preserving recipes that you can whip up using natural ingredients that you already have in your kitchen.
1. Avocado-Honey Moisturizer
A moisturizer is one of the most common anti-aging products used by most people. It helps your skin retain moisture and also acts as temporary filler for wrinkles. As a result, your skin looks smooth. This particular natural beauty recipe also makes your skin look youthful.
The ingredients are: 3 tablespoons of fresh cream, ¼ avocado, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Place all of the ingredients in a blender and puree into a smooth cream. Apply it to your skin and leave on for an hour. Then, rinse it off with warm water.
2. Fruit Salad Wrinkle Fighter
This fruit salad is full of antioxidants that protect your skin from sun damage and improves circulation to help deliver much needed nutrients to your skin. Eat this salad as your breakfast so you can start your day exuding your natural beauty.
The ingredients are: ½ cup fresh blueberries, ½ cup fresh strawberries, 1 kiwi peeled and chopped, ½ cup pomegranate seeds, ½ cup organic juice, and a handful of chopped walnuts. Combine the first four ingredients in a bowl. Pour the orange juice over and add the walnuts.

The ingredients are: brewer’s yeast, a squeeze of lemon juice, and water. Make a paste by putting a little bit of brewer’s yeast on a small bowl. Add a squeeze of lemon, and a little water. Apply on your blemish and leave it on for 10 minutes, then cover with a bandage.
4. Basil Toner
This particular natural beauty recipe is perfect for those who are prone to acne. The basil acts as an antiseptic and helps get rid of the acne-causing bacteria. This also enhances circulation to the skin.
The ingredients are: 3 tablespoons of dried basil leaves, and 1 cup boiling water. Crush the dried basil leaves using a mortar and pestle. Mix them into a cup of boiling water. Once the mixture cools down, strain the leaves out, then put it in a spray bottle and spritz some on your skin. Use a cotton ball to spread the toner gently all over your face. Do this every day before cleansing.
5. Lemon-Agave Age Spot Fighter
This natural beauty scrub can help hide your hands’ true age. By exfoliating your hands, you get rid of the top layer of dead skin cells where pigment leaving age spots are. The rice exfoliates, the agave hydrates, and the lemon helps in lightening your skin tone and gets rid of dead cells.
The ingredients are: ½ cup cooked rice, 1 tablespoon agave nectar, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Mix all of the ingredients and blend them well. Apply the mixture to your hands. The ingredients are: 3 tablespoons of fresh cream, 1 cup of white sugar, ½ cup of brown sugar, ½ cup of ground almonds, and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix all of the ingredients well. Apply the mixture to your face in a circular motion. Then wash your face off with warm water, followed by cold water. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. 7. Coconut Deep Conditioner
